Four Rotary Clubs planted 100 Trees in Makalbari

Kathmandu  l  With an enthusiastic participation of Rotarian members, local clubs and local residents, more than 100 trees were planted in the picturesque Makalbari area. This plantation program was jointly organized  by Rotary District RID 3292, Nepal and Bhutan affiliated four Clubs namely, Rotary club of Gyaneshwor,  Rotary Club of Kantipur, Rotary Club of Matribhoomi Baluwatar and Rotary Club of Gokarneshwor  last Monday.

Mayor of Gokarneshwar Municipality Deepak Kumar Risal, former District Governor Rotarian Chintamani Bhattarai and others were present in the program. On this occasion, Mayor Risal putting his words of commitment towards environmental protection said that the tree plantation program organized by Rotary clubs was an excellent example.   While speaking about the contribution of Rotary to the social sector through such great efforts, Rotarian Chintamani Bhattarai, former District Governor, highlighted the contribution of Rotary in the social sector.

Highlighting the Plantation program, secretary of Rotary Club of Gyaneshwor Shristi Tripathi said ‘This tree planting program is just one step, it is part of a larger, ambitious three-year project aimed at increasing the region's green cover, raising environmental awareness, and improving the overall ecosystem. Further, she stated ‘By planting these trees, we are fighting climate change and creating a healthy, clean future for future generations’. Also, she expressed her gratitude to all the local clubs and community members for their steadfast cooperation and participation'.
