Kathmandu: An interaction program with industrialists and businesspersons regarding the operation of the National Economic Census 2082 was held on Tuesday at the Chamber Secretariat. The program was jointly organized by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the National Statistics Office.
Participants emphasized that close collaboration between government bodies and the private sector is essential to make the census effective and reliable.
Speaking at the program, Chamber President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal stated that the National Economic Census would present a realistic picture of the country’s economic condition, the current status of industries and businesses, investment trends, and employment realities. He mentioned that such data would make policy formulation, laws, planning, and implementation processes evidence-based, thereby contributing positively to long-term economic development. He also clarified that the census cannot be successful without active participation from the private sector and expressed the Chamber’s readiness for necessary coordination and cooperation.
On the occasion, Director Dr. Bed Prasad Dhakal from the National Statistics Office delivered a presentation highlighting the necessity, objectives, and multidimensional importance of the census. According to him, the data obtained from the census would assist the government in policy formulation and planning, strengthen estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and national accounts, provide essential data for changing the base year, and help develop sampling frameworks for various economic surveys.
It was also expressed that the census would be useful in establishing a statistical business register system, preparing indicators of the informal economy, and gradually bringing the nearly 50 percent informal economy into the formal sector. The data would also provide a strong basis for integrating unregistered firms into the mainstream economy.
Furthermore, he informed that the census aims to collect detailed information related to industrial, commercial, and service sectors to support evidence-based policymaking. He assured that the confidentiality of collected data would be fully protected and clarified that the information would not be used as legal evidence in court. He urged businesspersons to provide necessary information without hesitation.
During the interaction, stakeholders shared their views on the effectiveness of the census, private sector participation, potential challenges during implementation, and possible improvement measures. The participants concluded that coordinated efforts from all stakeholders are necessary for sustainable economic policy formulation through reliable data.
Nepal conducted its first National Economic Census in 2075 B.S., which covered economic establishments under 18 groups according to the International Standard Industrial Classification. The office has announced that the second National Economic Census 2082 will be conducted from Baisakh 2 to Asar 7, 2082 (Nepali calendar).

INLA का अध्यक्ष हरि उप्रेतीका अनुसार, संघको आयोजनामा सम्पन्न हुने उक्त अधिवेशन समारोहको संयोजन तथा व्यवस्थापन स्थानीय नेपाली साहित्यिक संस्था 'साहित्य कला संगम' ले गर्ने तयारी गरिएको छ ।
अधिवेशनमा संघको बार्षिक गतिबिधि र आर्थिक गतिबिधि माथि छलफल गरिनुका साथै भावी कार्यायोजना प्रस्तुत गरिनेछ । स्थानीय कार्यक्रम संयोजक 'साहित्य कला संगम' द्वारा तयार पारिएको विभिन्न साहित्यिक एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम सहित संस्थाको बारेमा अन्तरक्रिया गरिने कार्यक्रम पनि रहनेछ।
संघले यसको प्रथम अधिवेशनदेखि नै गीत रचनामा उत्कृष्ठ योगदान पुर्याउने एकजना विशिष्ट गीतकारलाई १०००.०० अमेरिकी डलर नगद पुरस्कार सहित "INLA-ज्ञानेन्द्र गदाल गीत सम्मान" द्वारा सम्मानित गर्दै आएको छ।
यस वर्षदेखि उक्त सम्मान लगायत नेपाल र नेपाली डायस्पोराका गीत, संगीत र गायन विधाका ६ जना उत्कृष्ठ श्रष्टालाई समेत पुरस्कार तथा सम्मान प्रदान गरिने भएको छ । संघद्वारा हरेक वर्ष अर्पण गरिने "INLA-ज्ञानेन्द्र गदाल गीत सम्मान-२०२४" पहिलो पटक गत वर्ष विशिष्ट गीतकार नीर शाह लाई अर्पण गरिएको थियो।
INLA प्रवासमा रहेर नेपाली गीत लेखनमा सक्रिय रहने गीतकारहरूको एकमात्र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय गैर नाफामूलक संस्था हो। यसले सम्पूर्ण गीतकारहरूको लेखकीय हकहितको संरक्षण गर्नुका साथै सर्जक र सिर्जनाको उचित मूल्याङ्कन एवं कदर गर्ने काम गर्दछ। नेपाली गीत र गीतकारको उन्नयन र विकास नै यस संघको मूल लक्ष्य रहेको छ जानकारी अध्यक्ष हरि उप्रेतीले दिनुभयो ।

In recognition to the outstanding contributions on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024 the poets were gifted with this accolades.

The awards were presented in honor of their unwavering commitment to raising awareness about environmental conservation. The President of the Global Writers Academy and Managing Editor of The Daily Global Nation, Bishwananda Sinha, expressed his profound admiration for the poets. "I am deeply honored to acknowledge these individuals who have dedicated their voices to preserving the environment and inspiring us to appreciate its wonders," he said.
Sinha emphasized the importance of poetry as a powerful medium for environmental stewardship. "Through their evocative words, these poets awaken our senses to the intricate beauty of our planet and challenge us to protect it for future generations," he said.
After receiving the award poet from Nepal, Saroj Ojha expressed his gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue using their art to inspire environmental awareness. He even urged people to embrace their role as guardians of the Earth and to act responsibly to preserve its marvels for generations to come.
काठमाण्डौ- लामो समयदेखि अमेरिकामा बसोबास गर्दै आएकी स्रष्टा गीतकार रिमा श्रेष्ठ ले नेपाली सांगीतिक क्षेत्रमा आफ्नो उल्लेखनीय योगदान दिँदै आएकी छिन्। पेशाले आइटी इन्जिनियर भए पनि लेखन र कलाप्रति उनको लगाव कहिल्यै घटेन। उनले बिछोड, माया–प्रेम तथा समाजमा सकारात्मक ऊर्जा प्रवाह गर्ने विषयवस्तुमा आधारित गीतहरू लेख्दै आएकी छिन्।
व्यस्त जीवनशैलीका बाबजुद पनि रिमा श्रेष्ठले नेपालका थुप्रै चर्चित गायक–गायिकासँग सहकार्य गरिसकेकी छिन्। जसमा अन्जु पन्त, स्वरूपराज आचार्य, प्रमोद खरेल, प्राश्ना शाक्य, मेनुका पौडेल, अस्मिता अधिकारी, पुष्पन प्रधान, राजेश पायल राई, रेवती राई, किरण गजमेर लगायतका कलाकारहरू छन्। रिमा श्रेष्ठ भन्छिन्, “लेखन कार्य गर्दा छुट्टै आनन्द प्राप्त हुन्छ।” उनका सिर्जनाहरू ‘रिमा श्रेष्ठ वर्ल्ड’ नामक युट्युब च्यानलमार्फत सार्वजनिक भइरहेका छन्।
विदेशको व्यस्त जीवन भए पनि उनले नेपाली कला, संस्कृति, भाषा र भेषभूषालाई कहिल्यै त्यागेकी छैनन्। विगत ६ वर्षदेखि Kansas City Nepalese Society मा सल्लाहकारको रूपमा योगदान दिँदै आएकी उनी नेपाली संस्कृतिको जगेर्नामा सक्रिय छिन्। उक्त संस्था नयाँ वर्ष, तीज, होली, दशैं, देउसी–भैलो जस्ता सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्दै आएको छ। साथै, नेपालका विभिन्न राष्ट्रिय कलाकारहरूको सहभागितामा सांगीतिक कार्यक्रमहरू सञ्चालन गर्दै आएको छ।
हालै मात्र रिमा श्रेष्ठले रचना गरेको गीत “याद” सार्वजनिक भएको छ। यस गीतमा प्रमोद खरेल को स्वर, रविन्द्र पौडेल को संगीत, र म्युजिक भिडियोमा डा. सुभाष आचार्य, रविन्द्र पौडेल, कृतिका बस्नेत को अभिनय देख्न सकिन्छ। भिडियो निर्देशन सोनाम पाख्रिन, छायांकन दिनेश पराजुली, र सम्पादन विकास दाहाल ले गरेका छन्। “याद” गीत विभिन्न डिजिटल प्लेटफर्महरूमा उपलब्ध छ।
गीतकार रिमा श्रेष्ठलाई नेपाली सांगीतिक क्षेत्रमा यति धेरै योगदान पुर्याएकोमा हार्दिक बधाई तथा शुभकामना व्यक्त गर्दै, उनका सिर्जनाहरूले समाजमा अझ गहिरो छाप छोड्न सकोस् भन्ने कामना गरिएको छ।
Over the years, she has collaborated with renowned Nepali singers, including Anju Panta, Swaroop Raj Acharya, Pramod Kharel, Prashna Shakya, Menuka Poudel, Asmita Adhikari, Pushpan Pradhan, Rajesh Payal Rai, Rewati Rai, and Kiran Gajmer. She shares, “Writing gives a unique sense of joy.” Her creations are shared through her YouTube channel, Reema Shrestha's World.
Despite her busy life abroad, Reema has remained deeply connected to Nepali art, culture, language, and traditional identity. For the past six years, she has been serving as an advisor to the Kansas City Nepalese Society, which organizes cultural events like New Year, Teej, Holi, Dashain, and Deusi-Bhailo, along with musical programs featuring Nepalese artists.
Her latest release, “Yaad,” features the soulful voice of Pramod Kharel and lyrics by Reema herself. The music is composed by Rabindra Poudel, while the video showcases performances by Dr. Subhash Acharya, Rabindra Paudyal, and Kritika Basnet. Directed by Sonam Pakhrin, with cinematography by Dinesh Parajuli and editing by Bikash Dahal, the video is now available on multiple digital platforms.

त्यसैगरी, मिसेस श्रीजना शर्माले पनि कार्यक्रममा सहभागिता जनाउँदै नेशनल कस्ट्युम र इभिनिङ गाउन राउन्डमा आकर्षक प्रस्तुति दिनुभएको थियो। उहाँ Kids Star International Nepal 2026 का विजेता आरोग्य शर्माकी आमा हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँले आमाको रूपमा मात्र नभई, स्वयं एक प्रतिनिधिका रूपमा पनि नेपालको गरिमा प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो।
कार्यक्रममा सहभागी अन्य प्रतिस्पर्धीहरूले समेत सांस्कृतिक पोशाक (Cultural Dress) र इभिनिङ गाउन (Evening Dress) मा आफ्नो देशको कला, पहिचान र सौन्दर्य प्रस्तुत गर्दै कार्यक्रमलाई थप आकर्षक बनाएका थिए।
उक्त कार्यक्रममा नेपालसहित ९ देशहरूको सहभागिता रहेको थियो। सहभागी देशहरूमा नेपाल, इन्डोनेशिया, अष्ट्रेलिया, सिङ्गापुर, किर्गिस्तान, भियतनाम, थाइल्याण्ड, मंगोलिया र कोरिया रहेका थिए।
Fashion Era को आयोजनामा सम्पन्न उक्त कार्यक्रममा विभिन्न देशका प्रतिस्पर्धीहरूबीच नेपालका प्रतिनिधिहरूले उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन गर्दै देशको नाम उच्च बनाएका छन्।
